Theatre Audition: 12 Angry Men

Grand Valley Community Theater is producing the dramatic play “12 Angry Men” opening April 17, 2026 at the Art Center 1803 N 7th St, Grand Junction CO 81501.

Open auditions for this production will be held on February 16th and 17th at the American Lutheran Church 631 26 ½ Rd. Grand Junction, CO 81506 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

Most roles are for men age 30 and older, but we welcome all interested actors as many hands are needed to make theater productions a realty. All roles are non-paid. This is community theater.

For those who are not familiar with the play: (From Wikipedia): 12 Angry Men is a 1957 American legal drama film directed by Sidney Lumet in his feature directorial debut, adapted by Reginald Rose from his 1954 teleplay.  A critique of the American jury system during the McCarthy era, the film tells the story of a jury of twelve men as they deliberate the conviction or acquittal of a teenager charged with murder on the basis of reasonable doubt; disagreement and conflict among the jurors forces them to question their morals and values.

I would encourage you to watch this film prior to auditioning to familiarize yourself with the story and learn more about the jurors who serve as the main characters.
